The Phase Timing status screen indicates whether the controller is running coordination, free operation or is in flash.  In addition, this screen shows all current vehicle and pedestrian calls on all 16 phases and the current phase timing for each ring.  The Phase Timing status screen is divided into 3 areas:

Current Operation and Sequence

Check the right area of this screen to see if the controller is in FREE or is in coordination.  You can also determine the sequence number from this display (the default for Sequence 01 is dual-lead left-turns).

Ring Status and Phase Timing

The left area of the screen shows the active phase timing in each ring.  The "Min" (min green), "Ext" (gap extension timing), "Yel" and "Red" intervals of the active phases are shown in each ring. The pedestrian intervals "Walk" and "Pclr" are also displayed concurrently with the vehicle phase timing.

During coordination, you will see "Term Fof" whenever a phase terminates due to a force-off.  The example menu above is a "snapshot" taken of a controller during coordination with active phases 4 and 8 being forced-off to phases 1 and 5.

During free operation, you will see a "Term Gap" message whenever the "Ext" (gap extension timer) times out and the phase gaps out.  Otherwise, the "Ext" (gap extension timer) will continue to reset and the "Max1" or "Max2" timer will eventually terminate the phase with a "Term Max" message.

Active Phases and Veh / Ped Calls on Each Phase

A/N - In the example above, phases 4 and 8 are Active and are being forced-off.  Phases 1 and 5 are Next as shown in the center area of this display.

The "Veh" calls for all 16 phases are also shown in the center of this screen.  This is a STD8 controller (dual-ring 8-phase), so phases 9 - 16 are Omited as shown with the "O" symbol.  The following symbols are also used to indicate vehicle calls and recalls under each phase column.

.  - phase is enable, but there is no call on this phase

r - min "r"ecall on the phase

R - max Recall on the phase

C - vehicle or ped Call on a non-active phase

E - vehicle call Extending an active phase

F - Force-off terminating the active phase (under coordination)

p - ped recall
