IP commnunications on the 980 controller requires that the IP Interface be installed and the switch on the interface PCA be set to ON.  To setup and enableIP communications, configure the controller as follows:

 1. System Uplink Port Parameters (MM->6->1)

a. Set the communications mode to NTCIP

b. Enter the appropriate Station ID.

 2. IP Parameters  (MM->6->5)

a. Program the IP device address, IP mask, and at least one Host address.

b. Optionally GtWay (Gateway) address

c. The Port # should be set to zero if the drop setting in Streetwise for the network is '0 7 0 0'.  Port # 0 is tcp/udp port address 5000.

c. Set the IP Enable to ON.

3. IP parameters are transferred from the entry screen to the IP interface upon power-up and whenever the IP Interface changes from being disabled to being enabled.  The IP interface is enabled only when all of the following are true:

a. The System-Uplink port is set to NTCIP mode

b. The IP interface PCA is installed

c. There is no cable connected to the Uplink Port (or pins 24 and 25 of the cable are not jumpered.)

d. The IP Enable parameter is set to ON.

When the IP Interface is enabled, the System Uplink communication port is not active.  Whenever the IP Interface is disabled, for whatever reason, the System Uplink port reverts to its programmed operation.

IP Interface Port Testing

1. Verify that the IP Interface PCA is installed and that the switch on the assembly is in the ON position.

2. Set the uplink port to NTCIP mode.

3. Program the minimum required IP parameters, setting the IP Address to the initial test address (Address #1), and then Enable IP operation.

4. Connect the controller to the intranet.

5. Ping the controller at Address #1.  It should respond.

 6. Ping Address #2.  There should be no response.

7. Change the IP address in the controller to Address #2.  Then set the IP Enable to OFF and press Enter, followed by setting it to ON and pressing Enter.  This reconfigures the IP interface to use Address #2.

8.  Ping Address #1.  There should be no response.

9.  Ping Address #2.  The controller should respond.

10.  Set the IP Address and Station ID in the controller to an assigned StreetWise device address.  Turn the IP Enable Off and then On to have the new address take effect.

11.  From StreetWise, perform a scan, upload, download, set time and collect an event or alarm report.
